P5 Be able to edit materials to produce a final print media product

Purpose:

The purpose of advertising is to convince customers that a company's services or products are the best, enhance the image of the company, point out and create a need for products or services, demonstrate new uses for established products, announce new products and programs. Therefore,I used photoshop to help me edit my raw material (the image I took) for my project (ferrero advertising).

Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics editor developed and published by Adobe Systems for Windows and OS X.I use photoshop to edit my photos to give a high stand and quality movie posters.

Process:

Work 1

To begin the process,I opened photoshop and create a new piece of work.I set it up as A4 size (210 x 297 mm )

Then I put the background into the photoshop. The reason why I choose this background because it suit the main theme color of my project ( golden). The reason why I would like to use golden color as background is it's suitable to match the theme of my product. The original product package is gold as well and I believe gold color is a very warm color to use for exclusive design chocolate.

I put the raw material in to photoshop which is the still image I took in the state with a white background.

I used this two tools from the tool bar help me to select the main project (ferrero) and the black silk out of the white background.

I decrease the capacity to allow the two layer match with better quality.

I found the ferrero logo though internet.

Finally,I put the text and logo in to the photoshop and correct the size to finish the first work.

Work 2

First of all, I open the raw image with photoshop. And I went to Image - Adjustment -Levels - Auto to give this image a higher quality of RGB.

The RGB* color model is an additive color model in which red, green, and blue light are added together in various ways to reproduce a broad array of colors. The name of the model comes from the initials of the three additive primary colors, red, green, and blue.

At the right top of the image,we can see there is a part filled with the white background and showed grey color,it doesn't fit with my theme color, therefore I decided to change it into yellow.

I used Magic wand tool to help me smart selected the area and I filled a light yellow.

To finish the second work,I put the logos at the right side which allow people can see them at first time when the saw this advertisement. Then I put a little Italy logo at the left bottom to show people this brand of chocolate is made from Italy.

Work 3

First of all, I opened a new work with A4 size in photoshop.

I put the raw material (still image took from studio) into the photoshop first and then I put a material that I dowloaded from internet at the top of the work.

I changed the Opacity to 80% of the material at the top to match with the raw material better.

Finally I put the logo at the left top make sure people can see it clearly and the slogan at the left bottom. And for this image, I also used rule of third to set my main project (the ferrero at the right side in focus) at a great position.

Work 4

First of all,I opened the raw image with photoshop and I used the magic wand tool to selected the area that I don't want (the background).

The I filled the background with black color and the edge of the chocolate hasn't been filled with the magic tool very well.So I paint it with the mouse.

There are also many effects on the text "Grand Ferrero Rocher."

I wanted this text to stand out from the other text. The Bevel & Emboss feature gave it texture. The Inner Glow allowed me to add a gold outline around the text. The Gradient Overlay allowed the text to be gold and yellow. The Outer Glow gives it a gold glow around the text. The Drop Shadow adds a little more definition, and I also made this gold so it made the outside stand out more.

Work 5

First of all,I selected a background and I put on photoshop.

I put the first material into the background.

After select out the background,I think this raw material doesn't work with the background so well. Therefore I decided to select another raw material.

This time,I choose a single product of the ferrero chocolate and put it above the background.

I select out the grey background out behind the raw material.

In Photoshop I left the workspace as it comes because it has all the essential tools I was going to use and I know how to access all of the other techniques without having to change the setup of the program. For example, to get the note to not look like a simple square, I had to use the Skew tool in the Transform properties for that shape. This allows you to change more than just the size of the shape and can make it look like it has depth. I also added drop shadows to complete the effect, and a gradient fill that goes from dark to light and then dark again to make it look folded upward.
The background was made by making a collage of the black, gold and silver colours used in the poster. I then used the blend tool to smooth it all out and look more like other Ferrero Rocher advertisements.

Finally,I added the text and brand name into the work.
